RACE DIRECTOR/DUTY MANAGER
Location: Thruxton Circuit, Nr Andover
Reporting to: General Manager
Hours and Benefits:
- Salary Negotiable
- Full Time - Shifts are based on 35 hours per week on a Rota System.
- Monday to Sunday. Flexibility for 7 days is vital.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
To assist the General Manager in the day-to-day management, operation and running of the venue. Supervising staff whilst ensuring the venue is operational in a timely manner. (Monitoring kart and track presentation and performance whilst ensuring customer care and team performance management are prioritized)
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Act as a Duty Manager of the venue whilst providing strong, effective, and highly visible leadership to karting staff.
- Oversee, manage, and operate the race control timing and display system to provide safe, competitive kart racing for the enjoyment of our customers.
- Responsible for the implementation of the karting schedule of Arrive and Drive, races, and corporate/group parties.
- Ensure karting personnel run all races/events safely, efficiently, and professionally.
- Ensure all circuit and maintenance tasks are completed to maintain the highest standard of facility safety and appearance.
- Ensure that all cash controls and cash handling and card payment procedures are followed and adhered to.
- Meet, greet, and sign in customers.
- Deliver the race safety briefing. Be fully conversant with the staff handbook and the NKA (National Karting Association) guidelines. Liaise with Centre Manger and Sales and Corporate Events Manager to ensure smooth and consistent day to day running of the above and its activities.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- Flexibility to work Monday to Sunday including evenings and weekends – 35hrs per week (rota system).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Time, people, and organizational management skills.
- Experience within a customer service team environment.
- Experience or anticipation of outdoor work.
- Excellent eye for detail.
- Highly confident manner in public speaking.
- Experience in a management or team management position.
- Computer literate with knowledge of MS Office.
- Enthusiasm for the role and the ability to have fun whilst working.
Full training will be given on all aspects of the position. You need to be a dynamic, confident person with a desire to work in the karting environment. Previous experience is not necessary, simply the desire and ability to learn new skills.
